Privacy at XploreR
XploreR is run by InnovAiding LLC ("we", "us"). This page explains, in plain words, what we collect and why. Our full Privacy Policy, Terms of Service and End User License Agreement still apply; where this page is more specific about a feature, this page applies.
In short: we use your information to show you events, run your account and keep XploreR safe. We don't sell your information, we don't run ads, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.

Your account
You can look around XploreR without an account. To save events, plan trips, post, rate, comment or create events, you create an account with your email address, a password, your name, and optionally a profile photo and home city.
- The same account works in the app, on the website and on glasses, so your saves, trips, interests and reminder choices follow you.
- Your password is stored encrypted (hashed); we never see it.
- Other members see your first name, last name, photo and city on your public profile and next to what you post. Your email address is never shown to them.
- On the website, your sign-in is kept with one secure cookie for up to 60 days. Signing out removes it.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time: in the app under Profile → Delete my account, or on the website under Profile → Account → Delete account. Your account is closed immediately and no longer appears anywhere in XploreR. To have the remaining record erased from our systems, email robertovj3@gmail.com and we'll do it within 30 days.
Location
- In the app, with your permission, we use your location to show events near you, how far away a venue is, and to check that you're at a venue before you can post a photo, video or comment, or ask other members there how it's going.
- Ask people here: if you're signed in and leave "Share location for pings" on, we keep only your last known position so that members at an event near you can ask you to post. Turn it off in Profile at any time and we stop updating it.
- On the website, your location is used in your browser only, to start the map where you are. We don't store it. The part of the map you're looking at is sent to our servers and to the map and place services below so they can load events, streets and places.
What you post
Photos, videos, comments and flame ratings you add are visible to everyone using XploreR. Photos, videos and comments can only be posted by someone at the venue while the event is on.
- Photos, videos and comments are deleted automatically when the event ends, or 24 hours after posting for events that run for several days, whichever comes first. This happens every hour.
- Flame ratings stay with the event listing until the listing itself is removed.
- Events you create stay on the map until they end, and you can edit or delete them at any time. Old listings are removed from the live service about six months after they end.
- No offensive, abusive or illegal content is allowed. Only post people who are happy to be in your photo or video.
Saves, trips and interests
Events you save, trips you plan, the categories you're interested in and your reminder choices are stored with your account so they're the same on every device. A trip you share by link can be seen by anyone with the link, together with your first name. Saves of Ticketmaster and SeatGeek events are kept on your device or in your browser only.
Notifications and email
- App notifications: if you allow notifications, the app reminds you before events you save (at the times you choose), sends an optional evening "tonight near you" note, and delivers requests from members at an event. To deliver them we store a device token with OneSignal, our notification provider. Turn them off in Profile or in iOS Settings.
- Email reminders (website): when you save an event on the website, we can email you before it starts at the times you choose. Turn them off or change the times in Profile → Reminders. Reminder records are deleted once the event is over.
- Account email: we send password resets and messages you ask for. We don't send marketing email.
Reporting and blocking
Anyone can report an event, a post or a member, and signed-in members can block other members. Blocking hides that person's posts, comments and events from you in the app and on the website. Reports go to the XploreR team with the reason you chose and are reviewed within 24 hours; content that breaks the rules is removed and accounts that break them are closed.
The website and cookies
The website uses one essential cookie, to keep you signed in. It also stores a few settings in your browser (light or dark mode, 2D or 3D map, your Ticketmaster and SeatGeek saves). There are no advertising or tracking cookies and no analytics that follow you elsewhere. Our servers keep standard logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security, for a limited time.
Services we work with
| Service | What for | What they receive |
|---|---|---|
| OneSignal | App notifications | A device token, your account id, language and time zone |
| Ticketmaster, SeatGeek | Ticketed events on the map | Our server asks for events around the map area; when you tap a ticket link you go to their site under their own policy |
| Wikipedia, OpenStreetMap (Nominatim, Photon) | Explore, place names and search | The map position or the text you search for |
| OpenFreeMap, map and elevation tile hosts | Drawing the map | Your IP address and the map area, as with any map |
| Apple Maps, Google Maps, Uber, Lyft | "Take me there" | Only what you send when you choose to open them |
| Our hosting provider (GoDaddy) | Running the servers, database and email | Stores the data described on this page on our behalf |
Some ticket links may be affiliate links, which means XploreR may earn a small commission if you buy, at no extra cost to you. Event listings are gathered from public listings by venues, local guides and ticket sellers; the details of each event come from them.
How long we keep things
- Photos, videos and comments: until the event ends (at most 24 hours for multi-day events).
- Email reminder records: until the event is over.
- Your account, saves, trips and interests: until you delete them or your account.
- Your last position for "ask people here": replaced each time it updates; cleared when you turn the setting off.
Children
XploreR isn't for children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.
Your choices and contact
You can see and change your details in Profile, turn off location, notifications and email reminders, and delete your account at any time. Depending on where you live (for example in California or the EU), you may have rights to access, correct or delete your information; to use them, or with any question about privacy, email robertovj3@gmail.com.
We'll update this page when XploreR changes and show the new date at the top.
